What students will experience

Guided visits, demonstrations and conversations with professionals help students understand the work behind animal care and consider their own interests.

01

Veterinary practice

Join guided visits and ask professionals about daily veterinary work, animal health and communication with owners. Consider the responsibilities of the profession and whether this work interests you.

02

Animal care & grooming

Watch professional demonstrations of daily care and grooming. Learn why hygiene and handling standards matter, and compare the work of animal-care professionals with that of a vet.

03

Animal welfare & behaviour

Discuss animal welfare and the responsibilities of caring for animals. Consider how professionals respond to animals’ needs and how this differs from simply enjoying their company.

04

Animal health & related careers

Meet professionals in animal-health services, care and technology. Compare their roles with veterinary practice and explore where your interests could lead.

What students take home.

Your field journal
